Apartment Living Design Landscaping Plants

Small Space Gardening

April 22, 2010

I live in an apartment and a small one at that, so having outdoor plants isn’t exactly an easy thing to do. Luckily, we do have a back stairwell that despite being home to our garbage cans is a fairly well-suited place to grow plants. We’ve got a lot of beautiful flowers, as well as some herbs that should actually be useful come summer. The basil isn’t looking so hot, however, and I think it might  need to be replaced.

It’s nice to look out of the window and see something like this rather than just garbage cans and brick.

Plus, after I put these outside, my neighbor added a few of her own, so now we have our own little porch garden!

For some reason I am much better at growing plants outside than inside. Maybe they are just heartier plants, I dunno. Last year my plants got aphids mid-summer though, so fingers crossed that doesn’t happen again.
