I’ve had this tiered table for a while now. It belonged to my Great Grandmother and when I saw it at my parent’s house I thought it was kinda cool and asked if I could have it. I initially was going to paint it white but the finish was so nice (not anymore, thanks to a bogus rainstorm) I just left it as it was. I didn’t really think of it as being cool or trendy, even though it does have a certain sort of vintage charm, I probably wouldn’t have sought it out if it hadn’t been in the family.
That’s why I thought it was funny when I was looking through the Urban Outfitters site the other night and came across this table. I guess everything comes back in style if you wait long enough.
I was a little bummed when I saw that they also had it in the exact color I was thinking of painting my now rain-ruined table. I’m stuck between being cool for having the table before it was cool and being a lame follower because I like colors TV and magazines tell me to like. I think I still come out ahead because I didn’t have to pay $80 for the table. : )
