Our apartment is blessed with a pretty decent entry space. There’s room to hang coats, take off shoes and drop your stuff when you come in. For the past year, however, it’s mostly been a parking lot for our bikes. While it was nice to have our bikes in a place where we knew they were safe, it was also a total pain in the butt. I can’t tell you the number of times I ran into or knocked those suckers over. Plus, they seriously scuffed up the walls.
We finally decided to take our chances and move the bikes down to the bike room, opening up this whole glorious entry space for something that is actually useful and isn’t such an eyesore. I painted the wall a pretty green, cleaned up the whole space and got a new table that provides a place to put stuff when you come in and a bunch of additional storage, something we sorely needed.
So, here are the results. It’s still a work in progress and I’d like to get a little bowl or something to put keys in, but it looks a whole heck of a lot better than it did before and I’m pretty fond of it.
Nice new table from Ikea! Lots of storage and much easier to walk past without running into.
My lovely boyfriend labeled his basket as being for “bongs” though it currently houses exactly zero bongs. Just scarves and hats and other winter essentials!
